New York Is The City Of Dreams, It Could Help You Reach Yours
@maddiegreer

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always been fascinated with New York. Having been born there and moving to Miami, Florida at the age of 4, I spent my entire childhood and beginning of adulthood going back and forth between many summers and family visits.

Every single time I’ve gone, without fail, I’ve managed to experience something beautiful. Every single person, every place, they all have a unique story and experience to share. Whether it’s the art or graffiti on the walls, the different smells, and aromas that fill the city, or the people you engage with regularly at your corner store, everyone, everything has a personality. Every single thing has something unique to share with you.

So why are so many people so inclined to move here? What is it that the city offers that others seem to lack? Most will say it’s the possibility.

Most people looking to move to New York are looking for a fresh start, a new beginning, or a way to live their lives.

People that move here are souls that are filled with big dreams and ideas.

Almost usually, they tend to know no one in the city. However, this serves to your advantage as you then have the opportunity to reach for the stars and if you fall, no one you know is around you to judge your process. And quite honestly, I don't decline this philosophy at all. While I’m very much a believer in inner work if you can feel in your bones that you’re ready to step into something greater or bigger than you’ve ever imagined, lunge for it.

Even if you fall face first, it’s worth the risk.

The move will provide you with the courage and the confidence to move past your fears, play big, and to not settle for any of the limiting stories people are projecting on to you. “You’re crazy! You really think you can do that? You’re going to move THERE? Pursuing THAT career? With THAT degree? You’ll never make it.”

These are the words that sometimes someone will hear either from their peers, their family members, or even from themselves as they contemplate a move or a major change.

The beauty of moving to a place as grand and as wide as New York is that here, you’ll find plenty of dreamers and big-thinkers just like you, looking to pursue what they believe is their soul-mission.

Aside from the awesome idea of reaching for new, different, and your dreams, there is also the appeal of AWESOME FOOD! And what better way to fuel yourself than with delicious snacks and meals! New York is known for being one of the most diverse cities in the nation. The citizens that roam it come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. And the city crafts food from each and every culture it inhabits.

You can find classic American pizza, authentic Chinese food, Austrian dining, food from the Caribbean, Greek pastries, and a great deal of Indian, Korean, and South American cuisine. PLUS, New York is filled with tons, and I mean tons, of places that serve vegan eaters as well, from bakeries to full-blown dining, you’ll never run out of options here.

So as you can see, New York has a special place in my heart. Not only is it my home away from home, but also it is a place that will always be filled with wonder, joy, and the wide range of possibility. If you’re contemplating moving, taking a risk, or going through with a major change, I say DO IT! And don’t look back.

Allow the words of love and self-belief to follow you on your new journey. There’s no place like the present to start living in your dreams and whether it’s New York or another major city you’re looking to move to, there’s always a place, a setting that is willing and able to facilitate and foster the inspiration that’s within.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
