The 12 Stages of Scheduling Classes As Told By "Friends"

Yes, somehow it's the time of year again to schedule your classes and move along through school. We all know how stressful this can be, especially when you have to have that one class that has just one section and only has 15 available spots, but you know that there are at least 40 people that need that class. You suddenly think to yourself, "How in the world am I going to be lucky enough to claim one of those precious seats?" This is only one of the many troubles of trying to schedule classes for the upcoming semester that all college students go through. Here are some others, as told by Friends.

1. That time of year comes around and everyone starts to talk about future classes, and you begin to panic because you are yet to receive an email about scheduling class.

2. Once you receive the email for an advising appointment, you can take a small breather, but you know the calm before the storm won't last long.

3. Your advisor emails to tell you to start looking over classes you might be interested in taking, and you realize your classes are about to get even harder. "How can that even happen?" you think.

4. Finally, the day comes to meet with your ever-so-kind advisor, and you know it may not be pretty but it's something that you can't run from, and they are going to suggest classes that you know you don't want to take, but you must.

5. The meeting is over, and you actually came out feeling better than you thought you would, and you've realized you might actually be able to keep your grades from slipping next semester.

6. As the day to register quickly approaches you try to build your schedule to your liking with no 8 a.m. classes, and if you're lucky, no Friday classes either. But you quickly realize this is near impossible as many seats start to fill up.

7. At last, it is the morning that you actually register for classes and you wake up feeling you could conquer the world.

8. Just one last time before you acquire your desired classes, you check to make sure they all still have available seats. And to your shock 2 of your classes are completely full, which then causes you to go into a panic, and rearrange your entire schedule thanks to those lucky students who nabbed the seats before you.

9. Once again, you find yourself rushing and stressing to find new classes, and thankfully, to your surprise, there are other options, and even though they may not be your first choice, at least there are options.

10. The clock strikes time, and hands clammy, heart racing, you rush and rush to fill your schedule before your seats are taken once again.

11. After rushing to finish and accumulating the classes you desired, you were able to nab a seat and complete your schedule. Now feeling like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders, you are ready to begin the weekend feeling as if you conquered the world.

12. Now that you've gotten all of the classes you need/want, you wish a good luck to those who have not yet made it through the agony but you don't feel bad for possibly taking seats which they could've needed. First come first serve, for real.

To those who have yet to schedule your upcoming classes or those who are not yet in college, just prepare yourself, because I promise you will go through many if not all of these phases. But I promise with strength and perseverance you can schedule and acquire all the classes you need. Just keep at it and don't quit. Good luck and schedule on!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
