College is the time we learn how to be adults and responsible for ourselves (well most of the time). Yes we pull all nighters to study for a test, and eat pizza three days week, but we still don't have parents by our side anymore. My senior year of college I decided to be even more responsible and get a puppy.
It was a super early Christmas gift from my parents. I have wanted my own Corgi forever and Cinch was THE CUTEST puppy ever. He was adorable and everyone loved him...until he whined and peed on the floors. Luckily we had an old house with almost all wood floors.
Having a puppy is somewhat similar to having a child. You have to watch them 24/7 in case they decide to chew on ANYTHING in the house and they need to go outside every hour or two. Cinch did end up eating furniture and multiple pairs of socks, but we taught me more responsibility than I realized and gave me so may great memories.
Puppies are great, but take a ton of work. I would totally recommend getting one if you are up to the challenge...and your roommates are all in!
