The Beauty Of Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes.

Mistakes are meant to be made, but never let them define you as a person.

You are not your mistakes and you will never be, even if you are labeled.

So you should start seeing the beauty of mistakes because there is more to the mistakes and it is misfortunate.

I wish I could show you that it is okay to make mistakes because that is what truly makes us human. However, certain things are not meant for showing, but for you to experience yourself. If there is anything that you take away from this article it's that 1) you’re not a mistake and 2) there is so much beauty in making mistakes.

You see, a lot of times we feel like our mistakes identify us in ways that we would not like them to. But no mistake should define who you are as a person, just because you made a small error or the wrong move, does not mean anything. It does mean it is who you are unless you choose to go further and commit the same mistakes.

The beauty of making mistakes lies in the fact that there is always the possibility of recovery and redemption after the realization of the mistake made. Do not let mistakes stop you from continuing on with your day. Making mistakes is only the beginning of learning. It is a learning process of knowing what is right and wrong from a small error. Mistakes can be brutal to handle and to embrace, but at the end of the day, we need to accept the fact that we make mistakes. It is only normal to make them, there is not a single person in this planet that has never made a wrong move before. But despite making these mistakes, it is very necessary for us to accept it and not make them again.

Acceptance comes with the harsh reality that what has happened is done and there is no changing to it. But this acceptance will allow you to know what you could do different the next time you encounter a similar situation. Often times people struggle to break from their habits, but when it comes to these errors, we should stop ourselves from making the same mistakes again. In order to realize that you are making a mistake is to not make it again. In general, mistakes teach us and guide us in the better direction for the future. When you make a mistake, you should admit to it, learn from it, and don't make it again.

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep." - Scott Adams

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
