Going from dorm life to living in a sorority house filled with 40 girls, living in your own apartment is an exciting new chapter.

Your first apartment. Something you will absolutely never forget. And here is why:

1. Your own bedroom

Your own space! This is something you never think about before college and you always took it for granted. Living in a dorm and sorority house, you usually have 1-3 other roommates. Now you can finally sit back, relax, and not worry about leaving your dirty laundry on the floor or throwing your school books all over the place. When you need to unwind after a long stressful day of classes, you can close the door and have “you” time! Something you have not experienced in 2 years.

2. A bathroom

Finally! A bathroom not being used by 30 other people from your floor! You don’t have to worry about the hot water running out or having to take a quick shower because you know that 17 other people are waiting to use it. Say “bye bye!” to the shower caddy because that’s long gone! Now sing as loud as you, it’s YOUR bathroom.

3. A laundry machine

No longer having to run upstairs because you forgot your school ID and no more collecting change for quarters. ITS FREE (...well it's in your rent!) That workout of carrying your laundry down the steps is history!!

4. Trying to eat healthily

Eating healthy on campus can get boring with the same salad or piece of grilled chicken. Having your own kitchen to cook up all the delicious recipes you find on Pinterest is the best. Obviously, the occasional buckeye donuts/Moe’s feast is bound to happen.

5. But the best of all, LIVING WITH YOUR BEST FRIENDS

There is absolutely nothing like it. Having your best friends, two feet away in the rooms next door instead of another dorm or sorority house can be the best feeling in the world. Beware, endless snuggles, binge-watching, and junk eating will definitely happen. And of course, you now have 3 or more closets to pick out your Thursday night outfits from! Get ready for a million selfies, loud Spotify playlists playing throughout the apartment on game days, and cute little study sessions at the dinner table. These are the days you will never forget.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
