I recently moved back into my apartment in my college town and I realized something that stuck with me for days. I really felt like my room was not complete. There was so much free wall space and a picture wall set up with no pictures to hang up. I had been putting off finishing my room for the entire first year of me living there simply because of lack of motivation. Mind you I was very busy balancing school and working, everything else just seemed to take precedence over my room getting completely done. I was over it.
I have always said that my room is my "zen space" because my room is where I like to unwind and be content being by myself. Your room should always be where your comfort zone is and where you feel shows your personality perfectly. Since I finally got the motivation to make my room feel like home, I have been obsessed!! I had such a fun afternoon with my best friend running errands, picking out picture frames, and hanging shelves in my room with her. It definitely was an entertaining sight to see but it could not have turned out better. Not only that but, I finally have pictures hanging on my wall I have had set up for a whole year now!
It is amazing how much better I feel spending time in my room now that I have it completely finished and totally me! It radiates light with the sunflowers/yellows mixed with the whites/tans. At night, it even has a calm feeling to it when I turn my main lights off and turn on my lights sitting on my shelves by my bed. And the best part about it is, I left room to add little things here and there that I might want to in the future! I left room for change! That is the most important thing when finalizing your room is that it is not exactly "final" because you always leave room to switch things up because let's be real...every girl gets the random itch to change the vibe in their room from time to time!
