I would definitely consider myself a basic girl. I try to keep up with all the latest fashion trends and own the newest, coolest styles. I tend to fit in with the crowd, except with the exceptions of preferring Dunkin' Donuts coffee over Starbucks (sorry, but it's just better) and hating Chipotle (it's just way overrated). I have even started to get on board with the avocado trend, even though I hate myself a little bit for doing so. Memorial Day weekend is a huge ordeal for us basics, so here is my guide to all the things you need to get through the weekend while also getting those perfect Instagram pictures.

1. An America Flag

Can you really celebrate any American Holiday without a picture of you standing on a beach wrapped in an American flag watching the sunset? Or, a picture of you staring at you significant other as you hold out the American Flag? The answer is an obvious no.

2. American Flag Swimwear

How will people know you love American and support all those who serve if you do not step out in an American flag swim suit? Whether it is a bikini or a super cute cut-out one-piece, it is a must. Extra points if you are wearing it while getting the typical American flag and beach picture.

3. A Fancy Pool Float

The best pool floats are of course the swan and the unicorn that you can lay out on in your American flag swimwear for that Instagram worthy picture, however, all sorts of floats will do like watermelons, pineapples and donuts.

4. A Fun Location

If you are blessed enough to have a really nice pool with fun floats, then you do not need to look any further than your back yard, however, if you are not as lucky, pack up the flag and the swimsuit and head out the door. If you have a beach or lake near you then those are great spots to get your pictures. If you do not, try to find a friend who has an awesome pool and is willing to have you over.

5. Fancy Sunglasses

Not just any sunglasses will do. You need a pair that scream DIVA!

6. Your Squad

Take a lesson from Taylor Swift, the queen of the basics, and get your squad together for Memorial Day weekend. You will be able to get great pictures of the group having fun together. Bonus points if you wear matching swim suits like Taylor's Squad.

7. Watermelon

Watermelon is a delicious treat that makes for spectacular photos. Slice up a few pieces for you and your squad before heading out to the pool or beach.

8. Sparklers

Sparklers will be the perfect touch to all individual and squad pictures once the sun goes down!

9. A Photographer

While you do not need to hire an actual photographer, you do need to rope in a parent, a sibling or a friend to take all those Instagram worthy pictures.

10. A Boat

Ok, so a boat is not technically a requirement, but if possible, it is highly recommended that you spend some part of Memorial Day weekend on a boat, and upload as many of the pictures to your Snapchat story as possible. Just remember to save at least one really good one for your Instagram.

Huge bonus points if you manage to get all items in on one super awesome, and incredibly basic, polaroid which you then snap a picture of and upload.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
