Hey Readers,

Welcome to the new year! This piece came from some words I thought over regarding what it means to "start the new year." It reigns differently for everyone, so I think that's what I wanted to convey the most. Please always acknowledge and cater to your individual journey. Each one matters dearly. Seeing positive vibes!

All that you are and all that you're doing,

It isn't a waste of time

All that you are feeling and all that you're expressing,

It isn't an invention of your mind

Some will understand it and others will not

But that is the way of separation

Some will abandon and others will stay

Yes, this is the true art of motivation

Wherein you dream and even waiver

But this doesn't mean you're 'losing'

For the universe may or may not do us favors

How many times did you cry?

How many times did you get upset?

How many ways did you apologize

To your multiple regrets?

There are no rules for how you start

With a wish, goal, or aspiration

I've said it once, and I'll say it again

This is the true art of motivation

If everything started smoothy each and every time

How would we recognize the rough currents?

If every single note fell into place on the first go,

How would we know if the song needs resurgence?

The words you've never said aren't ever lost

Or remain unheard

It's all about the 'when,'

And not the turn of the assured

A friend or foe alike

No one can say which paint is your type

For the art of the start is yours alone

It took a journey

A book

A volume

A collection

For you to stand where you are

Sometimes encouragement isn't always delicate

But harsh to get you to realize

The words of too many can be extravagant

How would you hear yourself?

How could you move as you wanted to?

How are there any pieces left of you?

Let your start not define where you're going too

Create your own definition and restoration

For I'll say it one last time:

This is the art of motivation

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
