Adulting (v): to do grown up things and hold responsibilities such as, a 9-5 job, a mortgage/rent, a car payment, or anything else that makes one think of grown ups.
As we are now college students, we are expected to do a lot more. We have to go to school and clean our apartments and make food and do the grocery shopping and so much more. In today's world lots of kids are sheltered up until the day they leave for college. Our parents are supposed to take care of us, I know but there comes a point and time where you need to cook your own food and do your own laundry because unfortunately we are not little boys and girls anymore.
Here's the thing, growing up sucks! I miss the days where my harden decision was if I wanted Sleeping Beauty's dress to be pink or blue. But now at 20 years old, I have to make decisions that could be with my for the rest of my life. Every day we are getting older and with that we are becoming and adult, but there are still so many things that comes with adulthood, that I was never taught in school, and honestly we need to know these things.
Technology has greatly changed since the day of our parents or grandparents. We rarely have tot write checks, in my 20 years I have written out maybe four of them and I have to admit....I struggled, and that is unfortunate. Along with that I don't know how to balance a checkbook, but maybe that okay because of online banking. I don't know...what do you think?
School doesn't teach you to budget yourself, or time management. Maybe you get started on that when you are younger in high school, but it changes once you get to college, because now you are an adult. You are not living at home with your parents anymore where everything was free. With in a matter of time it is all put on you. #adutling.
The thing is, this is something we are supposed to be doing. It isn't a tragedy that you are going through because everyone else went through, is going through or will be going through this "phase" Growing up is hard and we are all doing these very adult like things, but life is all about learning.
