Summer is here and I am ready to embrace it.

While some may have fun and extravagant plans to look forward to, others may be struggling to find ways to enjoy their summer. So, look no further. Here's my ABC guide to ensuring that you not only find ways to enjoy this summer but to make it the best one yet.

A: Always find a positive in every day.

B: Begin each morning with a prayer full of thankfulness that you're here.

C: Call someone you haven't seen in awhile and try to make that happen.

D: Don't sit around allowing negativity creep in and instead of combat it with coping mechanisms that work for you.

E: Eat that treat, because you deserve it.

F: Family is important.

Don't forget that and try to plan something fun with them even if it is just barbecuing at home together with a water hose sprinkler.

G: Grow something.

So I am not a gardener and I for sure don't have a green thumb, but it doesn't hurt to try and so far, I'm loving it.

H: Happiness looks so good on everyone.

So make sure to do something that makes you happy.

I: Inspire someone.

By writing this article I hope that I'll inspire at least one person to embrace the positive in their so call dull summer.

J: Join a gym, a class, or something of the sort.

Get out and be active and mingle with some people. I've already joined a gym and cannot wait for the sense of community I'll soon begin to feel.

K: Kick the negativity to the curb and allow the sunshine to kiss your skin this summer.

Just don't forget to wear sunscreen.

L: Love harder than you ever have before.

Love everyone just as Jesus loves you.

M: Meet new people.

Also, move because you can't possibly be proactive when you're sitting still in front of Netflix.

N: Nap when you need it.

Sometimes you just need a really good nap.

O: Open your heart to the possibilities that may lay before you.

If you keep it closed off you'll never be able to feel the sense of freedom.

P: Pray.

A good prayer session can make an incredible amount of a difference when your feelings of self-doubt, fear, and anger show up. Pray and thank Jesus for every day and for the ability to trust Him.

Q: Quote your favorite scripture when in doubt and when fearful.

When I am nervous and I am scared I remember 2 Timothy 1:7. God does not give me the spirit of fear and I am only letting it stop me.

R: Run in the rain.

I could've used multiple other words for this, but sometimes there is nothing better than running around in the rain.

S: Serve others.

I love getting to do something for someone else. I love the feeling that it gives me to just open my heart to someone who needs it. Serve where it's needed I promise there is someone out there who needs it and might not even realize it.

T: Trust Jesus with your life.

Trust Him to take care of you and thank Him for each day. Trust that there are plans far greater planned for your life than you imagine and seek Him in that.

U: Understand that sometimes it won't be easy as the day before, but with that don't give up.

Keep pressing hard and pursue Him.

V: Volunteer. Visit.

If opportunities arise to volunteer someone or somewhere then take advantage of that. You wouldn't regret it. Visit a family or friend you haven't seen in awhile. You might even make a routine out of it and look forward to it each week. Go have weekly lunches with grandma or take walks with a friend each week.

W: Walk.

If you're unhappy and potentially struggle take a nice walk to ease your mind. Sometimes taking a walk with someone makes it that much better. Even more so taking your pup for a walk will make you happy by seeing the joy on their face.

X: "X"press yourself.

Do things that make you happy and show who you are.

Y: You have the power to control how you're feeling.

You don't have to let the negative feelings take control, even when it is so hard. Make the decisions to fight through it and live your best life this summer.

Z: find your sense of Zest for life.

Go about it enthusiastically.

By living these out you won't be guaranteed zero bad days and a summer full of just pure feelings of joy. But by committing to ensure that you are doing everything you can do to make the most of this summer will make such a massive difference.

You ultimately have the choice to make it be what it will be. If that means sitting around wallowing in self-pity then that is how you'll feel.

But if you seek Him and find the joy in life then you will have a better chance of overcoming the negativity and unfortunate circumstances that will be thrown at you. Let's do this together and make summer 2k18 one for the books.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
