Going on vacation can be the best thing that happens all year. Finally, it’s time to get away for a few days or maybe even a week or two. But before you go on vacation, you have to pack, and that’s the worst part of the entire vacation. Packing can make a vacationer go insane. Here are the top nine thoughts you have while packing.
1. "I'm going to be organized and this will be easy."
Wrong. It’s going to be chaos and you will spend hours packing.
2. "I only need one outfit for each day that I'm gone, and one extra."
Also, wrong. What if something happens to your extra outfit? Also, don't forget to bring long sleeved shirts and pants to the beach in case it gets cold like mom always said could happen. (Newsflash: It doesn't get cold at the beach in the summer. But you might need the long sleeved shirts and pants... just in case, nobody really knows why.)
3. "How is it all going to fit in my suitcase?"
Answer for girls: It's not, you will have to bring another bag. If you're lucky, all you will need to go along with your giant suitcase is a small duffel bag.
Answer for guys: It will all fit. Do guys even have this problem?
4. "I need everything I haven't used in two years just in case I need it."
You will end up packing tons of things that you don't need, and you will inevitably forget things that you desperately need.
5. "Do I need to bring socks to the beach?"
No. You definitely don't. Unless you're an 80-year-old retired person living in Florida who wears socks with sandals.
6. "What all do I use on a daily basis?"
This is where your mind will completely shut down. Packing toiletries is the worst because there is so much to pack and it's all in small bottles that you doubt will get you through the entirety of your vacation.
7. "How much more do I have to pack?"
At this point, probably not that much, even though it still seems like a lot. Hang in there, you're almost done.
8. "Will this suitcase even close?"
Yes, well, maybe. It helps if you have someone sitting on it while you try to zip it shut.
9. "Finally."
Congratulations, you can now go on vacation because you're finally done packing.
