Don't get me wrong, I love being a college student. However, there are some inevitable cons that come with it that my peers and I all dread.
1. Constantly Being Asked Questions
What's your major? Why did you pick *insert school name*? Do you like it? What's your GPA? Have you made friends? Do you miss home? Although these don't seem too difficult to answer, after you've told every single person you know and their dog, it gets a little repetitive.
2. Never Having Money
I will be forever grateful for the opportunity of getting to go to college, but it has really killed my bank account. I have found myself using the most ingenious ways to save a few bucks, but it would be nice to have the time to get a job and not have to worry about the huge tuition bill every semester.
3. Living Without Your Parents
When first moving into college, I was so excited to have freedom and no one telling me what to do. However, not having anyone to cook dinner for you, do your laundry, or just be your number one fan is a real adjustment. You know what they say, you don't know a good thing 'til it's gone.
4. Never Sleeping
Everyone says that you experience real sleep deprivation in college, and they were they right. Staying up studying until 3 am is not all it's cracked up to be.
5. Realizing You Need To Figure Out What You Are Doing With Your Life
This is probably the worst and most terrifying part for me. At least for freshman year, you still have that high school mindset that you have "years" until you need to figure out what you want to major in and what career you want. Wrong. You have to decide, at least this applies for me, by second semester sophomore year, which means in less than a year.
