College is mostly all fun and game until finals week rolls around. It comes around twice a year and like most college students, I put off studying until the last minute.
1. Relaxation
Finals always seem to be forever away and pushing off studying is not hard to do. Going out another weekend, or just spending time with your friends is a lot more fun than studying for finals.
2. Realization
"What do you mean finals are only a week and a half away?! I thought we had like a month left?!?!"
3. Planning
Optimism is at an all-time high at this point. Planning to study all night and day often seems like the only solution to make up for all of the classes missed throughout the semester. There has to be some way to bring your B- up to an A.
"Okay if I get a 137% on my final, I can get an A in the class. I think I can do it, I just won't sleep until everything is done."
4. The beginning of the end.
The end of sleep, a social life, and any hope for life outside of the library.
5. Regret.
Whether it be regret that you didn't start studying earlier or that you haven't slept in three days and have consumed six cups of coffee in the past 24-hours, chances are something could have been handled better.
6. Sadness.
The lack of sleep starts to get you and all you can think about is your family and your bed waiting for you after you finish the seemingly worst week of your life. Not to mention, you can't remember the last time you had a full meal. Devastating.
7. The final cram.
T-minus 2 hours until your exam and that means it's time for to teach yourself all of the material you didn't get to during your normal study time. You probably won't remember most of it anyway, but it's the thought that counts.
8. Game time.
This is it. You've done all you could. The past two weeks of your life have been leading up to this moment. No time for regrets, just go in there and do your best.
9. "Did we even learn that?"
Regardless of how well you studied, there always seems to be something that shows up in the final literally out of nowhere. You don't know where it came from, but it will be your last thought as you turn in your exam.
10. Relief.
After it's all said and done, you can finally take the time to breathe, but more importantly, sleep. You've earned it, enjoy your break.
