As we get closer to the end of the calendar year, Seniors, your time is fast approaching. In the midst of all the excitement, take a minute to read and DO these things before your senior year is over!

1. Take as many pictures as possible

You will want to remember the best parts of your year when you go off to college. Pictures will help you remember what is important to you while you are off at college. They make the best door decorations in college.

2. Spend time with your family

Nothing will ever be the same once you leave home. You will miss your parents more than you think. You will miss your pets more than you miss anything else back home.

3. Go to things at school

Go have fun with people at your school because once you leave, you will want to go back and relive things that you missed.

4. Be yourself

Don't let others influence you because next year you will be on your own, and you will have to make yourself known as your own person. Don't do things that others are doing just to "popular" because there is a good chance you may never see some of those people ever again.

5. Spend time with your friends

You may not go to the same college as your friends, so be sure to spend whatever time you have with them.

6. Dance to the beat of your own drum

Go out and have fun. Make a fool of yourself, be silly, laugh like no one's watching. I know that sounds so cliché, but these people won't be around you forever. So why not?

7. Don't give up

You WILL get senioritis. Don't let that be an excuse for not doing your best. Senior year will get crazy, but prioritize how you will handle things.

8. Get a job

You will never understand how great it feels to have your own money. You won't want to spend as much of it if you worked hard to earn it.

9. Cherish the moments you are there

Graduation is not far away. Be positive and realize that once you graduate you can't go back. You will miss it. You will miss having your friends by your side through thick and thin, you will miss the teachers that knew your name, the only having 30 people in your class, and most importantly you will miss the craziness that you life was at while in high school.

10. Have fun

Be the real you. Go out, have a blast, don't look at whose around you. Don't let anyone stop you from treasuring these last moments at home and just enjoy every last second of it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
