Bachelor Bull: Why The Show Got It Wrong This Year

71

I, like most girls here, am not ashamed to admit I love The Bachelor for all the reasons I should hate it: the pettiness, the drama, the fakeness of it all. Yet, this season, something is very off, and all of it has to do with Jaun Pablo -- the bloom is definitely off the rose. The Bachelor is supposed to be fun. You're not really expecting the relationships to last, so it's a pleasant surprise when they do. However, Jaun Pablo has been the biggest fun sucker of any season.
He's arrogant, smug, conceited and generally just a huge jerk. He's the guy you warn your girlfriends about, and the guy that after about date #3 you vow to never call again. So the question is: why do I still care?
I watch this season because of the girls. It's hailed as the "controversial season" but really, it's only controversial in The Bachelor world, not the real one. In the real world, when you aren't feeling it with a guy (shout-out to Sharlene who left the show mid-season after being a JP fav), it's very normal to end it with him.
The biggest bombshell yet happened after Andi spent a night in the "Fantasy Suite" (am I the only one not offended by that whole concept?) and confronted JP. She explained that it's really not cool for a guy to talk about another girl on a date (or lying in the Fantasy Suite bed) and that for a partnership to actually be a partnership, the guy has to make an effort to know things that aren't just surface deep. However, as we have seen time and time again, JP did not react well to this.
Let's flashback to the moment when JP fully showed his spots. Yes, we had seen hints of it earlier such as with his tendency to make out with every girl on group dates, but his confrontation with Claire after their ocean romp is the first time we were all left with a seriously nasty taste in our mouths.
JP slut-shamed Claire. He turned the whole situation around on her, blaming her for their little tryst and explaining that she forced him to be a bad example for his daughter Camilla. When Claire tries to counter his arguments and make the point that perhaps, maybe it does take two, JP's english translation skills shut down, and he becomes that pig-headed jerk that spills his drink on you in a crowded bar and has the nerve to yell "Watch where you're going!"
This all cycles back to his "talk" with Andi. His only response is "It's okay" when she tells him that's she's leaving, and it's definitely not her, it's him. This fight reveals the great truth about JP that we've all been been trying to put our finger on: he sucks. So why do I watch this show?
First, seeing Andi chew out JP was such a wonderful piece of TV gold. And secondly, well, it's fun to hate a villain. Though I will say I have no desire to watch the finale because no matter who JP chooses to accept his rose, it's a lose-lose situation.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
