That's Not What A Lady's For
Role Reboot

Throughout history, men have always been the center of the universe. They were known as the bread winners, the man of the house, etc. Women, however, were seen pretty much as servants. Even in ancient Greece women were seen as disfigured forms of men.

A women's place was not a work, or at school. A woman was to sit around and wait for someone to want to marry her so she can have babies and essentially be a house maid. While this may have been the ideal for people in the 1950's, today is a different story. There are some things that a lady just doesn't have to do.

1. Personal chef

I'm not here to cook for you whenever you want. If I feel like making a nice breakfast or dinner then okay I will, because I need to eat too and I'm being nice. If you expect to wake up to a huge cooked breakfast, go to work, and come home to another big meal already waiting for you then you've got to lower your expectations. I work too. I don't want to slave over a stove after I've worked all day. What's wrong with you making dinner?

2. Housekeeper

You can do your own laundry, or sweep the house, or do dishes. I understand that most men have had their moms pick up after them their whole lives, so they think a wife will do the same. Sorry, not in these times. If I'm the one doing laundry 100% of the time and doing all the cleaning we're going to have a problem. It's 2016 If I've done most of the cleaning and ask you to finish up then you better do it.

3. Baby maker

I'll keep this one short. Stop telling women that their lives aren't fulfilled unless they have babies. Some women don't want to be moms and that is perfectly ok. A lady doesn't have to have kids if she doesn't want to. Let it go.

4. Obedient pet

Don't tell a woman how to live her life. A girl can go out by herself, or with a group of friends, and be perfectly okay. Again, this isn't the 50's where girls need a man's permission or supervision to go somewhere. Don't tell a girl she can't leave, change her hair, Hell, even get a tattoo if she wants. She is her own person and doesn't need permission.

5. Play Toy

A little louder for the people in the back: women are not your toys to play with and do whatever you feel like! We are our own people and refuse to put up with this crap anymore.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
