I don't know about you, but cranberry sauce sits in a container on my family's Thanksgiving table untouched every year. In every family, there is some food during Thanksgiving that is always a hit or a miss. So with this listicle, I am going to rank my favorite to least favorite Thanksgiving foods.
1. Mashed potatoes
These are the holy grail of sides during Thanksgiving. Mashed potatoes bring so much joy to my family with how fluffy and delicious they are. I cannot wait to eat five bowls of these this year.
2. Sweet potato casserole
This is a special dish because it can either be a dessert or a side. Sweet potato casserole is the best when it's filled with marshmallows and brown sugar. Yum!
3. Ham
My family usually has ham during Thanksgiving and it is the best. It's always savory and filling. What a great main course!
4. Hawaiian sweet rolls
These are never missing from my family's dinner table. When they are straight out of the oven and filled with butter, they are wonderful.
5. Pumpkin pie
This traditional dessert is the best when served with whipped cream on top. Nothing says Thanksgiving like a real pumpkin pie.
6. Turkey
I guess turkey can be on this list as well, especially considering it's usually the most traditional meal for most people. The true question is if you're a dark meat person or a white meat person. Apparently, this is very important.
7. Green bean casserole
I never touch this stuff. Maybe it's the fried onions on top, or the fact that cream of mushroom soup is layered within it, but this stuff is not my favorite. I will pass on this always.
8. Cranberry sauce
Does anyone know how to actually eat this? Does it go on top of turkey? Or do you eat it like Jell-O? Whoever came up with this is severely lacking in the taste bud department.
