To My High School Best Friends

I just needed to say thank you, and I miss you.

To My High School Best Friends

I'm writing you this letter because the other day I found myself thinking about you and wondering how you were doing. I know a bunch of time has passed since we last spoke, but I still think about you. This is starting to sound kind of like a love letter, but I promise that isn't the direction this is headed.

I hope life is treating you kind because even though we aren't close anymore I want the best for you. To be perfectly honest, post-high school graduation is a bit of a blur for me. Specifically, I forget why we quit being friends. After we parted ways and went to different colleges, the three way google hangouts stopped, and texts were coming in fewer and far between.

I remember how happy I was to have finally found "my people". Everyone in High School is just searching for their place to belong, and I found it with you guys. Remember when we used to hang out every week? (If not every day).

Remember the drama we went through just trying to figure out what homecoming group we wanted to tag along on? Remember the photo shoot we did..just because? Remember sitting in the bedroom gossiping while doing each others makeup and hair for prom? (Notably one of the best weekends I ever spent with y'all). The school football games, post-football game sonic runs, group texts, all the ups and downs.

We went through everything together.

I wanted to say thank you. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you. High School is never easy for anyone, so thank you for helping me through it. Thank you for helping to shape me in to the person I have become today. I sincerely believe that all of you had an impact on my life, and have helped to better me.

Thank you both for being so welcoming when we decided to all get in contact with one another again, and I'm sorry I couldn't be there like you needed me to be. I know we've all gone our separate ways, and made new friends. I hope they're good to you.

Now I'm not writing this letter to try and make you feel obligated to get back in touch with me. That is 100% your call. I've been wanting to thank you for all that you did for me, and I now feel like this is the right time and place to do so.

I love you, and know that I'm thinking about you and always hoping you're okay.

Sincerely,

Your High School Best Friend

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
