The race might not be over, but he's already made a difference.

#ThankYouBernie

I saw this hashtag circling the other day, and I don't have a Twitter to add my thoughts onto it. I need more than 140 characters anyways to thank Bernie Sanders properly. I will stick with him as far as I can, but I need to thank him for more things than I could imagine for a man I haven't met.

Thank you Bernie for standing up and for giving the people a voice that normally don't have a voice. The LGBT+ community, the black community, the poor, the Palestinians, women. Thank you for not just standing up for them but letting them speak as well so that they're struggles can be heard not just from others but from themselves.

Thank you Bernie for showing people that you don't have to be a run of the mill politician to make a difference. An older Jewish man stands out a bit in the world of politics, especially when his parents were from another country and had to start from scratch when they got here.

Thank you for standing up and taking on the "establishment" that has become the Democratic Party and reminding people that we don't have to be in an inner circle to have a voice. Getting into Congress as an independent was hard enough but running as a democratic socialist has been even harder, and you've done better than any of us ever expected. We could only hope when you started.

Thank you for being an inspiration to those of us that had lost faith in politics even if we wanted to grow up to be a politician and president some day.

Thank you for reminding us that it's okay to be different because sometimes the country needs to be shaken up a little bit t get people to stand up for what they believe in.

Thank you for reminding us that we don't have to settle for the present and we can push for change. It's not impossible, and you gave some people passion that had lost it while igniting it others. You showed us that there's no need to be any age to make a difference as long as we're there to make it.

Thank you for reminding us that one person can make a difference, but we are a whole lot stronger together. It might take one person to get us started, but there are plenty more people around to bring us together.

As an aspiring politician, thank you Bernie for showing me that I don't have to start out rich to raise a campaign. I don't have to compromise my morals, and I can start from the bottom too work my way up.

Thank you for showing me that I can light my own path to getting into politics instead of the road that most people get to travel by.

Thank you for reminding me that sometimes I'm going to have to speak loudly to be heard, but people will listen when one person speaks.

Thank you for giving me the experience to make a difference on my own campus and helping me find those that I can stand with.

Thank you showing me it is okay to start with a few people, a sign, some duct tape, and a dream.

Thank you for showing everyone that big money doesn't have to be in politics, and we can make a difference without it.

Thank you for giving us hope.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
