Why You Should Be Thankful For Your College Friends

They've seen you at your worst, trust me.

When you get to college, you meet a whole other breed of human. These humans survive off five hours of sleep, eat shitty commons food for at least one meal a day, and usually cry together cult style before an exam. By your sophomore year, you should have a good idea of who your friends are. These are probably the people you suffered through freshman year with too. Here are three reasons why I love my college friends and wouldn't trade them for the world.

1. They have seen me at my lowest point. (Thanks finals week.)

During finals week, after finals week, before an exam, we have all cried with our college friends. Chances are they have seen you at your snottiest, puffiest eyes, and most emotional state. For this you should thank them because that definitely was not a pretty sight. You have also probably seen them at this state too, so do not be afraid to give yourself a pat on the back. They also one hundred percent have screens hotted ugly snapchats of you and honestly, I do not think you are willing to risk that hideous double chin pic just because you're mad for a millisecond.

2. You have the BEST times with them as well.

Whether it is 2am conversations, Saturday night parties, or Pizza Fridays, you always have fun with your friends at school. Even when you are sobbing over your exam tomorrow, chances are you're still cracking jokes about something. If college students are good at anything, it is cracking jokes about shitty our lives are at the moment and that's something to laugh about.

3. At least one of them has to live close by...so you know what that means. Yes, you guess it. Every college student's dream...a home-cooked meal.

If you're anything like me, you do not have the option to go home whenever you please. This means a delicious home cooked meal is not in the near future, which is why you need to find a friend that has family close to school. Also, you get to hang out with their family which is great. It's like being with your family except not at all. Oh and make sure they have furry friends that you get to pet because let's be honest, who does not want to pet a cute little animal.

So the next time you get angry with some or even all of your college friends, take a chill pill please. They have dealt with all of your shit thus far and will continue to put up with your shit until your time at school has ended. Appreciate them.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
