Being away at college really puts people's lives into perspective. There is so much we take advantage of everyday without realizing it, and only really notice when it is gone. So, thank you Mom and Dad for everything you do everyday and in the background in order to make your children's lives better and easier.

Here are 10 reasons to tell your parents "thank you":

1. For your endless support.

Through the good and bad, you're always right there, reminding us that we are never alone. No one else in the world is there like you guys are, constantly offering a shoulder to cry on or reminding us how strong we are.

2. Guidance.

We can always turn to you for help and know you will be there to help us onto the right path. You give advice no other friend can, and for that we are eternally grateful. You make big life decisions seem easy and small and couldn't do life without you.

3. Spoiling us even if we don't always deserve it.

If we can't afford something, you find a way to make it happen. And if we want something, after a while it'll appear once we learn that things are just things and the difference between a want and a need. Thanks for letting us get some of our wants, even if we really didn't need it or if we yelled at you the day before.

4. Accepting us for who we are.

Not everyone in the world will appreciate us or even like us. But no matter how weird or quirky we can be, you accept us. No matter our flaws, you accept us. And no matter how many mistakes we make, you've always accepted us. Thank you for doing what no one else could.

5. For Forgiveness.

Thank you for leaving our mistakes in the past and letting us be better in the future.

6. For teaching us everything we know.

There's a lot of things we can't learn in school, and you guys taught us all of it. Anything from speaking to cooking, or how to build relationships. We learned it all from you.

7. Putting a meal on the table every night.

Even when you work till 9 pm, you still manage to have a full family meal on the table every single night. Parents are actually just superheroes in disguise.

8. Cooking and getting all of our favorite foods during holiday breaks.

Its the best feeling in the whole world after dining hall food and Ramen Noodles. Thank you.

9. Hugs.

Parents just give the best hugs in the whole world, the kind that instantly make you feel happy and warm on the inside. Nothing compares.

10. Loving us unconditionally.

Thank you for doing the one thing in the world no one else can. Your unconditional love has helped us through bad friendships, rough days, and the endless mistakes we are bound to make. Thank you for your love.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
