Just a note from your favorite daughter saying thank you for all you do. You have taught me so much, and I wouldn't be where I am without you there cheering me on and supporting me always. Here are just five of the many things I have learned from you.
1. Be generous.
I constantly witness from you what generosity looks like and how easy we can make it a priority. You taught me that generosity should not be a burden, but a blessing to someone.
"A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." Proverbs 11:25
2. Care for others.
This is another act of kindness I learned to always strive for.
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
3. Stop worrying about things you can't control.
Things happen all the time that we can't change. We just have to deal with these events and not let it get in the way of our happiness.
“Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” Deuteronomy 1:29-31
4. Never give up.
If we strive for something and work hard, we will earn our position. You taught me to never be afraid to fight for something. You taught me to use my voice.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
5. Don't take life too seriously.
There is always a time to be serious in life, but I have learned to make life fun and bring joy in any situation.
Happy Father's Day Dad. I love you.
