Dear Mom,
You are the true definition of a “Momma Bear.” Strong, determined, and intelligent. Someone who would never leave her “cubs” behind. We’ve been through many ups and downs together and I know that our life hasn’t always been the easiest.
In a time where we had nothing, you still managed to give me and Jordan everything. You stepped up and took on the role of both Mother and Father, because my real Dad couldn’t. Anyone you ask today will say you’ve done a better job raising me and Jordan than any household with two parents ever could.
We don’t have the typical “family,” but that doesn’t matter to me at all. I wouldn’t trade our day trips, adventures, and movie nights for anything. Family doesn’t need to be a Mom and Dad, it just needs to be being loved and cared for. The home you created has had more of that than anyone could have ever asked for.
My whole life it's just been us, and I've never really thanked you for everything. You are and always will be my person, my best friend, my soulmate. Without you, I wouldn’t be half the person I am today and am truly grateful for who you have shaped me into.
When you step into a room you outshine everyone and everything, with your bright smile and caring disposition. That is something I’ve always admired about you; no matter how bad things may be you never let your shine dull. You’ve always held your head high and pushed me to do the same. No matter what you’ve pushed me to be better, work harder, and put my all into everything.
Every accomplishment, milestone, and triumph I owe to you. Without you, I wouldn’t be the person I am today and be accomplishing all that I am. You’ve worked so hard to be able to send me abroad in high school, to get an education at an amazing university, and just to give me a comfortable life.
You do so much for everyone, and when you think I don't realize, is when I do the most. I see the late nights you spend in the office, the pair of shoes you won’t get so that I can have two, and the amount of love you put into all that you do. I have never had to ask or want for anything, materialistic or emotional. It’s all always been there, just like you.
You’ve always made sure that I have everything and more. Whenever there was a birthday, field trip, graduation, or road test you were there for and made even the smallest of moments feel so big.
So, thank you.
Thank you for endless laughs, hugs, and nights where you wiped away my tears, only to go cry your own. You’re the strongest person I know, with the most amount of intention and purpose put into every single moment of your life.
To the moon and back, I love you.
XO, Jessebear
