Growing up with an older sibling can be a blessing and a curse. They are some of the most annoying people in your life, but they always make it better. I love having an older brother and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Thank you for being my chauffeur
The perks of having a brother who is almost 7 years older than you, is that he gets his license way before you and he is forced to take you everywhere you want to go. Even now when you drive me around I have a great time blasting music with you.
Thank you for making me proud to be your sister
I know I say “I hate you” sometimes and talk about how you’re a loser (whether you know it or not), I’ve never been more proud to be your sister. Even as a child, I’d let my teachers and friends know that “Yes, that is my brother!” You are doing great things and I am so proud of you.
Thank you for letting me play video games with you
I always loved watching you play whether it was Kingdom of Hearts, Zelda, or Final Fantasy. I was so happy with mom bought us The Chronicles of Narnia game so we could play it together. It was one of my favorite memories. I’m still sorry for saving my game over your Kingdom of Hearts game, I didn’t mean to.
Thank you for teaching me about basketball
One of the main reasons I played basketball was because you loved it so much. I wanted to be just like you and be as good as you. Even though I stopped playing (and I’m absolute crap now), you taught me so much and are still teaching me about it from a coaching standpoint of view.
Thank you for letting me be friends with your friends
Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to be friends with their big bro’s friends? They are pretty cool guys and it’s always hilarious when everyone gets together.
Thank you for listening to me
We may not get along all the time, but we have been through a lot with each other. Thanks for being there for me and not getting mad at me when I get emotional and start crying in Sara’s Family restaurant.
Thank you for teaching me to learn from your mistakes
Typically, we learn from our own mistakes, but when you have an older sibling you learn from them. I thank you for making those mistakes and teaching me to not make the same ones.
Thank you for being you
Even though sometimes you annoy the living hell out of me (especially when you eat my food that I was saving), I can’t imagine my life without you being in it.
Thank you for supporting me
You’ve always been there, even for the little things and I love you for that.
Thank you for protecting me
You may not have ever had to fight anyone on my behalf, but the thought that you would stand up for me and be there for me was enough.
Thank you for all the memories we will make together
I can’t wait for the days when you get married and I become an aunt. I can’t wait for the days where we get old and still act like we’re 5 and 11 years old. I can't wait for the many many memories we will have together.
I just want you to know how much I love and appreciate you, Dogo.
