A 'Thank You' To My Boyfriend's Exes

Thanks for the best thing that has ever happened to me.

A 'Thank You' To My Boyfriend's Exes
Brianna Jukes

Dear _______,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the best thing that has ever happened to me. Once upon a time, I was a bitter little girl much like yourself, who didn’t believe in love or happiness. I feigned smiles and convinced everyone that I was so much better off on my own.

But I’m not.

My boyfriend has made me a better person, and in some sort of twisted way, I have you to thank for that.

Thank you for being selfish.

Thank you for caring about nothing, but yourself and using him; that made him way more appreciative of a love that is unconditional, whether he buys me things or not. Relationships are about giving and taking, not just taking and taking until the other person is barren. As much as he gives me, I will give him right back. Always.

Thank you for making him insecure.

That one is dripping with sarcasm. Just because you’re insecure doesn’t mean you have the right to pass that along to people who once cared about you. But don’t worry, I will gladly provide the security that you never could. No matter what, he knows that I’m never going anywhere. I don’t care how many times we fight, or how many times it gets rough: I am never, ever going anywhere. I don’t mind reassuring him of that time and time again because you up and left him, high and dry. I could never leave when something better comes along, because there is nothing better than him. I will always be there, and I will always love him.

Thank you for letting him slip away.

You let a real gem get away from you, and I could not thank you enough for that. Thank you for not fighting harder for him, because now he’s mine. I have never been so loved and so happy, and it’s your fault. I bet that drives you crazy. But that’s okay. He and I have a chemistry that cannot be matched. He treats me like a princess, and he pushes me to be better. He’s everything I could have ever dreamed of and more.

So thank you, because you led him to me, and I could not be more lucky to have him.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
