The life I live now is one filled with joy and happiness, and the person I was before I met the Lord is to thank for that.
Thank you for constantly pushing through, never giving up on life even in your toughest times.
It was hard. There were times when life may have not seemed worth it anymore. You were existing, rather than actually living. It seemed like you were alone without anyone to talk to about what was really going on in your head. But you stuck through it and kept on going.
Thank you for recognizing that you were missing something in your life.
Life could not have just been full of hurt and heartbreak. There had to be something more, and you knew that. You were constantly trying to find someone or something that would bring you happiness but never seemed to be able to. You kept on pursuing though.
Thank you for listening.
The first time someone had really had a conversation with you about Jesus, you did not really get it. Growing up Catholic, you had heard the Gospel before and wanted to know more, but you did not fully understand it. You were so interested in the life that you could have with Christ. There was someone who could love you no matter what your past looked like? Someone who could take away pain and worry? You wanted and needed that more than anything.
Thank you for recognizing you were a lukewarm Christian.
You believed that there was a God, but never had a relationship with Him. You prayed occasionally, but never expected anything to come of it. You may have called yourself a Christian, but your thoughts and actions did not reflect that. You did not turn to Christ to find joy or happiness, but instead turned to earthly things. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come; The old has gone, the new is here!" You were not so sure you felt as though you were a new creation, but the thought of being one sounded so relieving.
Thank you for accepting that invitation to Church.
After about a seven year hiatus from church, you accepted your friend's invitation to go. It was there that you learned that it was okay to be angry at God, to tell Him how you really feel. After all, He already knows what we are thinking anyways. It was there that you actually felt as though Christ was moving in you. It was there that you knew you wanted a relationship with Him.
Thank you for finally giving your life to Christ.
Your sins are forgiven and your life is joyful, now. There is no more reason to worry because the Lord has it all taken care of. You are truly a new creation.
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, But Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20.
