President Obama,
Hi. I would like to make a short introduction. My name is Melissa. I'm a first generation college student attending the University of Northern Iowa (Go Panthers!). In your eight years in office, you've made many accomplishments and helped move America with progress. Here are a few thank you notes for you.
Thank you, ACA, for sounding so close to my future child's first words.
The Affordable Care Act made it possible for my family and I to get affordable health care. After watching people struggle to get health care and fight with insurance companies, the ACA is a saving grace to many Americans.
Thank you, Obama, for giving us "Thanks, Obama."
Thank you, same-sex marriage, for making it obvious to those don't believe that love IS love no matter what gender.
Thank you, the 2010 tax breaks, for giving taxes the break they deserve.
Thank you, Obama, for the Obama/Biden memes.
Thank you, jobs, for your belated growth spurt.
Thank you, the Obamas, for being #familygoals.
Keep going on with the Dad jokes. I'm not ashamed to admit they make me laugh, and I appreciate them (even if your daughters don't).
Thank you, President Barack Obama, for your eight years of dedication, loyalty, and service.
From someone who you've helped in many ways,
Melissa Curtis
