A Thank You Letter To My Mom

Words can't even describe my gratitude.

A Thank You Letter To My Mom

There are about a million things that every child needs to thank their mother for. For carrying you inside of her for nine months, despite the discomfort and drastic body changes. For giving birth to you, enough said. For changing your diapers and getting up to feed you at all hours of the night. For all of the money spent on you, because you just have to get something. For always being there for you. For being your mom. I want to thank my mom for all of the above, and below.

Thank you for always being there when I need your hugs. Over the course of my 19 years, I have lost friends, had broken hearts, didn't make teams, and many other things that every child faces as they grow up. There is nothing in this world that can make me feel better during these times than your hugs. To this day, I drive the 45 minutes home just for a hug when it feels like everything has gone wrong.

Thank you for giving the best advice, even if I don't realize it at the time. You always know exactly what to say when I need help. Whether I call you sobbing or screaming, you never fail to remain calm and tell me exactly what will make me feel better. You will tell me what to do next or how to fix things, or even just that you love me. Either way, it's always brilliant!

Thank you for letting me talk to you about anything, anytime. If I call at 3 a.m. because I can't sleep and need someone to talk to, or because I have an actual problem and need your incredible advice, I know you will always answer. I can talk to you about absolutely anything, and that is the best gift in the world. No matter how scary or sad or whatever it is that I need to tell you, I know you will always be there to hold my hand. Always.

Thank you for always telling me to make smart choices. For as long as I can remember, every time I would leave the house, "Make smart choices!" would ring down the hall after me. To this day, I still hear it in my head. I even find myself saying it to everyone else, too. And thank you for teaching me how to make those good choices.

Thank you for always picking me up when I was hurt. The grace and elegance gene must have skipped a generation, because I did not get it. But despite my many accidents, between animals, picnic tables, wheel barrels, and just about everything else, you are always there to pick me back up and nurse me back to health. I would be even more broken and bruised if I didn't have your love and care!

Thank you for treating every one of our reunions like we've been apart for years. It doesn't matter if it's been two days or two months, you always run and wrap me up in your arms. You make me feel at home and loved every time I see you again!

Thank you for always sticking up for me. I know that no matter the circumstances or who was involved, you'll always have my back. There's no doubt in my mind that you would be the first person to tackle anyone, and I mean anyone, for the sake of helping or protecting me!

Thank you for being my forever dance partner. Whether it's the robot, the sprinkler, or just jumping around singing, you're always the first one to hit the dance floor. Even if you're all by yourself, you would still have the best time. But don't worry, I'm always here to dance with you!

Thank you for being my superhero. Your strength is absolutely inspiring. You go through everything with a grace and power about you. You never crack under the pressure or the pain. I only hope that, one day, I can become even half of the amazing woman and mother that you are.

And last but not least, thank you for being my mom. My home, my friend, my wisdom, my advice, my hand to hold, my nurse, my dance partner, my superhero. My mom.

Thank you for everything that you have ever done for me. Words cannot describe how important that has been to me! I love you, momma

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
