A Thank You Letter To My Best Guy Friend Who Is My Brother

Dear Best Friend,

It hasn't been a year since we first met. The first time we met you came up to me and introduced yourself. I felt like you seemed like an amazing guy, so I messaged you. I asked if you wanted to go on a walk; you replied with "Why??" That made me laugh. We started talking more and more, you introduced me to my now best friends. You aren't like any other guy best friend, you are my brother.

You are a very energetic kid. You are always saying very vulgar things; which is really funny. You don't care about what other people think about you, and that is just wonderful, yes sometimes you do care, but most of the times you don't. You are always there for me, you know whenever I'm upset, you make me smile by taking me for a drive in your car. You call me to ask how I'm feeling, and to see if I want to go for a drive, or go to Starbucks.

You will never let anyone hurt me. You will beat up anyone who comes near me like an older sibling should do for their younger sibling. You see the sadness in my eyes and you always want to know what causes the sadness, and if you find out what causes it; you know something is gonna happen because no one will hurt your sister.

Now everyone says that to be siblings you have to be blood-related, but that's not true. There are many actual siblings that aren't blood-related; such as step-siblings. Some people meet certain individuals that they are inseparable with each other. They understand what the other is going through, they are always there to help. They are siblings.

I have two siblings I got an older sister and a younger brother, but I never got an older brother. Someone to look out for me, someone to show me guidance; yes I have an older sister, but every girl wishes for an older brother. Luckily I got you.

Best Friend, I don't know what I would do without you. I love you, you love me, and we are siblings forever! The best part is that we only met in September. It hasn't even been a full year! Look where we are now! We are inseparable! I am gonna miss you so much during the summer, we will talk every day when we can. I love you so much Big Brother.

Love,

Your Little Sister

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
