Thank You To My Hometown Best Friend

I’ve lost quite a few friends along the way. I’m glad you’re one of the few that have stuck around.

Thank You To My Hometown Best Friend

You were one of the first new friends I made in high school.

Thank you for sticking around through all of my awkward phases.

Freshman year. Excited about high school. Worried about making new friends.

Our friendship was built on the fact that you were clumsy. Catching your desk when you almost fell. Watching you fall down stairs at homecoming. Driving on the wrong side of the road. The awkward moments we have together go on and on.

Thank you for spending a whole night trying to help me find a place to get my nose pierced the day I turned 18… then holding my hand because I was scared of the pain.

Staying friends with someone throughout high school, and being away at college, is rare. Honestly our friendship is stronger now because of it.

Thank you for being there when I need to get away from college life.

Taking the drive to come home and getting to hangout with an old friend is so comforting.

Getting to reminisce about high school. Telling you my college stories, and hearing all about yours are my favorite. We may not talk everyday (and lose snap streaks because of it) but we both know we’re always there for each other.

Thank you for always being up to get food when I'm home.

Our love for pizza. Going to Walmart or Burger King just for ice cream. Trying to study at Panera, but spending the majority of the time talking about everything else going on in our lives.

Thank you for talking me into being a lifeguard last summer.

I may not have enjoyed it as much as you did, but I learned valuable life skills. Also, I gained some confidence by having to work in a bikini all summer. Gained a great tan, along with tan lines that I still have to this day.

Thank you for sending me funny tweets.

Not a day goes by where I don't appreciate getting a tweet from you. They either always make me laugh, or I can relate to them on a whole other level.

Thank you for being there when my college friends just don't understand.

We're both terrible at showing emotions, and talking about feelings. When they just don't understand my way of thinking, I know that I can always turn to you and you'll understand.

My favorite part of our friendship is that it's full of sarcasm. Half of the time we vent and complain, the other half we make fun of each other.

Thank you for overthinking everything, just like me.

I know you'll always understand my way of thinking about a situation. We over analyze. I love talking to you, whether it's me sharing a story or you sharing one, we can always relate to each other.

When we talk about situations that happened, we both agree that we would have done exactly what the other did.

Thank you for being my voice of reason when I'm trying to make a decision.

Since college, I have made countless mistakes. The countless stories I have shared with you, mostly end with me embarrassing myself, but you always just laugh along with me.

I’ve called you crying over guys, bad grades and just life in general. You never respond with, “well some people have it worse.” You just listen, and give advice when you can.

I’ve lost quite a few friends along the way, but I’m truly glad you’re one of the few that have stuck around.

Honestly, I don’t know what I would do without you.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
