Freshman Year,
Where do I even being with you?
You have, by far, been the craziest year of my entire life. And I thank you for that. You gave me really high highs and really low lows, and I wouldn't trade it all for the world.
I want to thank you for making me look so forward to my future. I want to thank you for teaching me perseverance through every late night at the library. For patience, with myself and with others. Thank you for the times I thought I couldn't do it; they showed be that I can. Thank you for the friends I have made and our late night food runs, parties and everything in between. You put meaning into the term "home away from home" by giving me a second family a thousand miles away. You have given me a life I never would have created for myself in my wildest dream, and more importantly, a life that I am proud and honored to call mine.
Freshman year, you are something special, and maybe not so special, to everyone. You threw a lot of curveballs, but they gave me strength I never knew I had. I think that most of all, you showed me a different side of myself, and it is probably the most raw and genuine that I have ever seen. Thank you for teaching me to find myself; over and over and over again. You allowed me to grow and change and to know that doing so is perfectly okay.
Thank you for changing my life. Thank you for being the first leap into my future.
Love you always.
