To whom it may concern,
It is easy to say that life is about growth. No one wants to stay at the same level forever. There is an urge for us to develop from the time that we are born. As a life goes on it is easy to recognize that people are trying to help you and guide you in the "right" direction. However, "help" from other people can quickly turn into a hinderance.
Consider this for a moment, what was your first dream? Who did you want to become? What did you want to become? Now ask yourself why did your goals change. Was it because you tried and failed, or was it because someone else told you that your goals were unrealistic? Personally speaking I know that the opinions of others have detoured me from goals that I had set for myself. I do realize that people are trying to prevent me from making mistakes, and I am grateful for that.
Unfortunately, making mistakes is a part of growing up, it is a part of life. I appreciate the help because I know that it comes from a place of love. I will make mistakes despite your efforts to "protect" me and that is okay. I will become wiser and stronger. I can not live my entire life in a bubble that you have created for me.
Thank you for your help, but it is time for me to figure things out for myself. If I need guidance I will come to you or I will seek a since of direction from God. I sincerely appreciate your help, protection, and guidance. Thank you for your help, but I don't need it. I need to grow. You have helped me along the way, but I do not need to be told what to do anymore. I need to learn for myself. How do you learn if you never mess up? The answer is that you don't.
Sincerely,
The girl who wants to grow
