Dear Real Strong Women in My Life,
I suppose it’s not really appropriate to call you my Real Strong Women, as you are all a gift to the world. Having said this, I am incredibly honored to live in said world, so as a tribute to your awesomeness, here’s a bit of a thank you.
Thank you for teaching me what it means to embrace life, no matter how hard it can get.
Thank you for reminding me that hardships are momentary and that there’s always a bright light peeking through somewhere (even if the light is peeking through my mountain of homework).
Thank you for letting me break down from time to time when I feel weak.
Thank you, for in turn, breaking down to me and showing me that it’s okay to let yourself feel vulnerable.
Thank you for not taking any of my crap. We’ve all been known to dish that out from time to time.
Thank you for pigging out on ice cream with me at 3 a.m. and assuring me that this is 100% acceptable...because it totally is.
Thank you for deep conversations that cover every topic from our dreams to proper eyebrow-maintenance.
Thank you for being my gym buddies and not judging my workout face (if you’re curious it’s heinous).
Thank you for comfortable silence.
Thank you for giving me the extra push when I needed it.
Thank you for our give-and-take relationships. One-sided relationships just aren’t worth it.
Thank you for inspiring me to be a better, more independent woman.
Thank you for acknowledging the good in the world.
Thank you for acknowledging the parts of the world that need fixing, and an extra thank you for going out into the world to help create the change we need.
Thank you for being you.
Love with all my heart,
Another Real Strong Woman
