1. Having too much patience with us.

Through all the fights and irrational meltdowns, you calmly wait for us to figure out how to be rational again.

2. Staying calm through all the breakdowns.

I can not even begin to count all the times I have called my mother at all hours when I am freaking out about school or other things. She always been the one you can calm me down and think rationally.

3. Believing in us when no one else will.

They always have our backs to root us on when it seems crazy to the rest of the world. They always see the best in us and see our potential before anyone else can. Sometimes in my life, it seemed like everything and everyone would be against me except for my mom.

4. Being there through every break up or fight.

Whether it be with siblings, boyfriends, or best friends you have always been there ready to listen to every detail.

5. Or just being there when we need to be comforted.

My mom is without a doubt the number one person I go to when I am having a rough day and just need someone to talk to. She can always make me feel better by her annoying jokes or just by being there for me.

6. Or knocking sense into us when we are about to ruin everything.

For me, I know I can let me anger get the best of me sometimes and when I am about to something I will instantly regret my mom is always there to knock some sense into my malfunctioning brain.

7. Not giving up on us even though sometimes we can be the worst human beings possible to you.

We have all been at the stages in our lives when we regrettably tell our mothers we hate them or are uncontrollably rude to them and can't really explain why. Thank you moms for taking our crap, loving us through it, and not running away a long time ago.

8. Texting and calling us frequently to make sure we make it everywhere safely.

You may think we see this as bothersome but we would be very concerned and possibly a little hurt if you didn't.

9. Being there for every concert, play, game, etc.

I can not remember a day when my mom did not try her hardest to come to everything my sisters and I participated in from elementary school to high school. At all my numerous band concerts I could always count on seeing my mom smiling face listening intently through every minute.

10. Teaching and growing us into the people we are today.

All the long talks and punishments were all for a reason and made us into the somewhat decent adults we are today.

11. Being the moms we don't deserve.

Thank for always being the mom that half of the time I do not deserve. Thank you for loving even though I make it pretty difficult sometimes. I love you and would be lost without you. Happy Mother's Day!!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
