No one can replace my hometown best friends. They have been a huge part of my life. Growing up together has made me who I am and has made them who they are. We learned a lot of lessons together and have shared some of the best moments of our lives. Although I don't nearly thank them enough, here are some things that I am SO grateful for:

1. Sticking by my side through EVERYTHING.

So obviously life isn’t perfect, and we’ve all gone through some sh*t. Lucky for me that I found people who I know aren’t going anywhere when things get tough. You guys are always there for me and know exactly what to say to make me feel better. I love that even though we’re all far apart, we make the effort to keep in touch and keep one another in the loop. We truly value having each other in one another’s lives.

2. Never staying mad at one another for more than a few minutes.

With the amount of time we spend together, arguments are bound to happen. I’m never the least bit worried about them though. I know that regardless of what the issue may be, it never carries on for too long. We aren’t dramatic and once we have gotten our point across, we drop it and never hold a grudge.

3. Being Honest-- always

Sometimes hearing the truth is hard but it’s needed. I appreciate how I can count on you to never sugarcoat anything for me. We are always straight up with one another and will tell it like it is. I trust your opinions and advice because I know that you too only want the best for me.

4. For having my back (even if I might be wrong).

You guys are always on my side. You agree with me and stand up for me even if you may think I’m totally wrong. You’re my girls and none of us are two-faced. I appreciate that more than you’ll ever know.

5. Being down to do absolutely anything, anywhere, anytime.

We’re friends because of our spontaneous nature. Whether it be buying last-minute plane tickets or taking insanely long road trips, we are all on board without hesitation. We crave adventure and new experiences and being able to do that together is the absolute best.

6. Treating me like family.

Even though we don’t share the same blood, we might as well. We spot each other when the other is short on cash, share wine (this is a big deal), walk into each other’s houses without an invite, and most importantly, have regular closet swaps. What’s yours is mine, mi casa es tu casa.

7. Supporting all my crazy decisions.

The amount of love I feel from you guys is endless. I don’t ever have to worry about you shooting down my hopes and dreams because you believe in me and we believe in each other. We want to see each other succeed and achieve our goals. I want the best for you and I know you want the best for me too.

8. Laughing (and crying) with me.

Ahh, the memories we have shared throughout the years. We have been through a lot of milestones together-- good and bad. You have seen me at my worst and at my absolute best. From wiping my tears to laughing until our stomachs hurt, I appreciate all of the advice you have given me.

9. Making me feel comfortable enough to tell you anything, without hesitation.

We are all open books. You guys know all there is to know about me, and still choose to be there. I can trust you with my secrets and know that no judgment will ever be passed. You guys are my rocks and you seriously rock for that (pun intended.)

10. Knowing that no matter what, we will always have each other.

Life will take us many places. We won’t always live exactly 7 minutes away from one another in our small little hometown. BUT that little town we have to thank for a lifelong friendship.

Wherever we go we will always take with us a little piece of home--a little piece of one another, and of the unbreakable beautiful friendship that has been created.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
