If You Have A Sister, I 10/10 Guarantee You've Sent Her These 10 Texts When You're Far From Home
Emily Dwyer

Growing up with a sister means pretty much sharing your every thought at every moment in time… and yes, this still stays the same when you move away to college. It can be extremely difficult to wrap your mind around the idea of leaving your sister, your best friend, your first roommate, and the girl who somehow takes all of your shoes but you love her anyway. But, it is safe to say that if you have a sister, moving to college will not change your relationship in the slightest. Just now you can't yell your thoughts down the hall, but rest assured, your thoughts will still get shared through texting.

1. Can we Facetime, I really wanna see our dog

Giphy

Sometimes this doesn't go over the best, but hey, a girl has got to see her dog when a girl needs to see her dog.

2. Is Mom on her phone?

Giphy

Sometimes, your sister will be your little investigator and she can get you the inside scoop. If your mom is not answering her phone, you need answers and you need them right away. Your sister is the closest plug to this detail. If not, how are you supposed to know how to do your laundry?

3. Did you just see what she posted?

Giphy

It happens, there's a post, and it needs to be reviewed by the both of you to make any further judgments. This could honestly be your Mom sometimes. We have been subbed on Facebook many times.

4. I'm livid

Giphy

Every emotion needs to be validated by your sister.. Like always.

5. When are you coming home?

Giphy

It doesn't matter how many times you tell your family your schedule, this will always be one big question mark for them.

6. "I think I have MRSA.. Oh cool, I have a hole in my ceiling"

Giphy

Yeah, honestly some weeks are just this bad.

7. How much coffee can I drink before my body breaks?

Giphy

And the same week might not even get better.

8. Look at how weird you look in this picture

Giphy

When you scroll upon one of those tragic throwback pictures, it is a must to remind your sister of her awkward wardrobe matched perfectly with the bangs.

9. Do you have my graphing calculator

Giphy

Because who else would have it?

10. Hey, ily pal

Giphy

At the end of the day, or even in the beginning of the day, a little reminder never hurt anyone!!

To all the sisters out there, I hope you find this super relatable. And to those who have yet had to separate, fear not because you will always, and I mean always, be in contact with each other. I love my big sister to pieces and could not imagine another person in my life to fill the role of many roles. My sister is my, swole sissy, best friend, first roomie, girl I shared a bathroom with most of my life, and the best car singing partner in the game, all in one pretty spectacular human.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
