If you haven’t heard about the battle for Net Neutrality, you’re not the only one. Though there are articles and videos on the topic, few seem to be aware of it. But you need to know that this is now a dire situation and you need to call your congressman.
Yesterday, December 14, 2017, the FCC voted to do away with Net Neutrality.
Net Neutrality means an internet that protects and enables free speech and the FCC is trying to take that away. The UN calls access to information a right, and we are about to lose it.
Without Net Neutrality companies like AT&T, Comcast, and Verizon will be able to decide what websites and content you’re allowed to see, and you’ll no longer be able to pay one price for unlimited internet access.
Without Net Neutrality, your internet plan will look something like this. Search engines like Google and online market places like Amazon will cost you extra every month just to access them.
The fight is not over yet. Congress can still override this decision if you call. Simply follow one of the links below or text “BATTLE” to 384-387 to be connected with your representative.

For anyone who has anxiety when it comes to phone calls: I believe in you. Please, try preparing what you’ll say by writing it out and call your representative. If you can’t, that’s okay, just share this post or similar one’s everywhere. Get the word out and get your friends to call.
Add a personal stake to your argument. If you have a small business or an Etsy shop, tell them that this will likely mean a loss of revenue for you and your business. Taking away Net Neutrality will not help the economy.
It’s looking grim because it is grim, but it’s not over. Fight.
