Humanity can't catch a break. Recent events, once again, brought death, hatred, and cruel acts on all of our brother and sisters. It's crucial now more than ever to love on everyone. Pay it forward or be kind to everyone you meet. People are seeking a light at this dark tunnel humanity is heading in.

"We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies"- Martin Luther King, Jr.

Nowadays, it's seeking understanding and love for one another is a chore for people. While hating and spewing acts of violence comes as easy as breathing. Many young adults are aware there needs to be a change in how people act, but what can they do? Where do you even start? Speaking your opinion on social media won't work or sharing a photo on Instagram won't work either. There must action done and not all talk.

"What you want won't always easy, but if you work hard and don't give up you will get there"- Unknown.

It seems as if so much has happened that it seems impossible to try to repair a broken nation. You can't keep rubbing dirt in an open wound and hope it'll heal by itself. It needs to be disinfected and properly taken care of. It's time to heal our nation and face the elephant in the room. The big and scary elephant with problems we've ignored.

A nation is never perfect, but it's time to clean the wound, throughly.

I'm pleading to all-- stop the violence. Stop the killings. Two wrongs don't make a right. Violence is the infection in the wound of our nation. It'll kill us all if not treated.

"Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it"
(Psalms 34:14 ).

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
