We are very complicated yet very simple at the same time. We sometimes feel we are a 40-year-old in our 20-year-old bodies. To us, that's normal. A lot of of it has to do with us on the inside, not the outside.
1. The words and slangs of today's society is something that appalls you.
Why would you drop the B in the middle of the word babe, and call someone bae? That is ridiculous. Twerking? I'm sorry, but who in their right mind invented that and why?
2. Books are a godsend.
Even the smell of a brand new book makes your heart warm and your skin have goosebumps. You have probably found yourself inhaling the pages once or twice, and I don't blame you, even textbooks....they all smell the same and we love it. People can often find us reading for fun, we love it.
3. You believe in true love.
You don't find the fun in messing around with someone having no belief that they'll want to see you again. You believe in love, and you aren't going to waste your time with people who don't believe the same thing. We need real love. We are huge hopeless romantics. You wanna know how to win us over? Just watch some Nicholas Sparks movies and you've nailed it.
4. You love to people watch.
Sometimes I'll be sitting at a coffee shop and won't realize that an hour has passed with me just watching people come in and out. It fascinates me. I want to know everything about everyone.
5. You've had a sense that you don't belong.
Whether it was at party and you found yourself in the corner eating the chips because no one was talking to you, or even you find yourself looking around the room during class knowing if they say to pick a partner, you better run.
6. You are very empathetic.
Sometimes too much. We always feel the need to help people, mostly when someone feels "lost." We need to take a step back once in a while and realize that not everybody wants to be helped. The thing is, we just see the potential and strength in people that others and themselves sometimes don't.
7. You may have been called the "Mom" of your friend group.
It's not because you aren't fun or don't like to party or go out, it's because they always come to you for advice and know you'll always be there.
8. You enjoy the little things.
When the seasons start to change and you love the way the color of the leaves are, or the way the sun seeps through the trees like a flashing kaleidoscope while driving on the freeway, or even just a good cup of coffee. You enjoy things that most people take for granted.
9.You have conquered more than a normal college student should.
You have reached milestones in your life that someone people at your age haven't even thought about. Every emotion for us is always stronger than usual, so we feel a lot. That being said, going through tough times has made us so much stronger.
10.You have always known what you wanted to do.
You couldn't wait to go to college and start classes that actually involve learning about things you're truly interested in. Once you started to drive at 16, you needed the next milestone. Harvard? Why, yes, I shall go now. President of the United States? Do they allow 20-year-old candidates? You were always on top of the world.
