The collection of a music junkie is vast and extremely diverse. Many of us are constantly digging to find something new, and if we're not searching for the latest and greatest, we're rehashing old favorites. Here are a few of my favorites, which I believe to be must-haves for any age.
1. Paul McCartney- Band On The Run
This album has a special place in my heart and never fails to put me in a better mood. McCartney is the best of the best.
2. Paul McCartney- McCartney I
McCartney I is probably my personal favorite McCartney album and of course, had to be included on this list. Paul plays all the instruments on the album & proves that there is life after the Beatles' split.
3. The Beatles- Abbey Road
As cliche as it sounds, Abbey Road is my favorite Beatles album (tied with Sgt. Pepper, of course.) I have a newfound love and appreciation for the Beatles and what they did as a group and on their own, as well.
4. Eric Clapton- Unplugged
I have been a Clapton fan for a while now and love everything he's done. To me, his Unplugged is the best of them all and was a turning point in his career. Acoustic versions of hits like Layla made us fall in love all over again.
5. Taylor Swift- Red
Once a fan, always a fan. Red will forever be my favorite Taylor Swift album because she proved herself even more as an artist, and made a smooth transition into popular music. I like her style and songwriting ability.
6. Train- Save Me, San Francisco
Train has a unique and familiar sound that people don't get tired of. They're still making music today, and I am still obsessing over it.
7. The Rolling Stones- Exile on Main St.
The Stones will forever be my favorites. I love this album because of the way they managed to make something beautiful out of their personal struggles. It has a certain grit and messiness to it, which I really appreciate.
8. George Strait- It Just Comes Natural
There will never be another man like George Strait. He is THE most charming man in the world and is absolutely timeless.
9. The Who- Who's Next
Words don't do The Who justice, so just see for yourself.
10. Matchbox 20- Yourself or Someone Like You
Matchbox 20 is a unique group with a great sound. I am a huge fan.
These are some of my all time favorite albums. There is no way for me to pick just ten, and I'm kicking myself right now for leaving some out, but this is the music that has brought me so much joy in my life. These are the songs that I've blasted after a bad day or a breakup. This is how I've gotten through the trials and pressure of everyday life. I am beyond grateful to these artists for bringing a glimmer of hope to the darkest days and making me feel bliss.
