You know that song, "Say" by John Mayer? I don't know if you're a fan or not, but I've realized recently how important it is to, well, "say what ya need to say." I think a lot of people take their lives for granted – always putting everything off until "later," or "tomorrow." But the truth is, tomorrow isn't promised. Not to be morbid or anything, but your life could end just as easily as it began. And for that reason, we need to take advantage of the time that we have in this life; not only to do what we want, and do what we love, but to tell the people whom we love – that we do, in fact, love them.
Whoever may be in your life (your mom, dad, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, husband), it'll never be overlooked when you tell someone how much you love and appreciate them. A little act of appreciation can go a long way. Who knows? You might even make their day. Everyone loves knowing that they've made an impact in this life, anyway.
Personally, I'm thinking of my parents, my family, and close friends when I say this. I feel like I don't tell them how much they mean to me – at least, not as much as I can. Maybe you're thinking of someone else – your pet, even! And that's okay! Because sometimes, saying it once isn't enough. People forget. They forget their own worth, and how awesome they really are. A little reassurance never hurt anyone!
Never feel embarrassed to tell someone you love them, either. Whether it's your parents, a boyfriend or girlfriend, or whoever! Expressing your true feelings is one of the most rewarding things that someone can do. Say it when you need to. Not for yourself, but for the person. Let them know how amazing they truly are, how much they're appreciated, and how you can't picture your life without them. Say it now, while you can. There's no better time than right now. Because, as John Mayer says, "Know that in the end, it's better to say too much, than never to say what you need to say again."
