In my opinion, Taylor Swift has been one of the most dynamic singers in the music industry. Need proof? Listen to her very first album and then listen to “1989”. I swear it sounds like two different people! Of course, a singers voice changes over time, especially when they start out in the music industry so young.

Swift’s change was a little different than your average pop stars. She went from being a young country music sweetheart, to a pop music powerhouse, to, well…. silent.

Taylor Swift was consistently releasing music every two years, around October or November, since the release of her first album back in 2006. Her most recent album, “1989”, was released in 2014. Meaning, 2017 makes three years since she’s released a new album. No big deal, right? Wrong. When TS6 wasn’t released back in 2016 her fans started to get a little worried. It wasn’t until recently that we found out a potential reason for her silence.

Earlier this month Swift was sued by David Mueller for three million dollars for wrongfully firing him when he worked on her “Red” tour. Swift countersued, saying her groped her at a Denver, Colorado concert during the “Red” tour in 2013. Swift only asked for one dollar. The jury ruled in favor of Swift.

Shorty after the trial, Swift’s social media blackout ended in a strange way. Her monumental first post back on social media was a video of a snake. Two days later she posted again. In a series of photos she announced a new single that was going to drop the next day and a new album (TS6 is happening !!!).

The album is being titled “Reputation” and it looks like it’s going to be Taylor Swift’s most badass album yet. Gone are the days of red lipstick wearing T-Swift. Make way for the new Taylor Swift, the one who doesn’t take shit from anyone.

“I’ve got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined” doesn’t sound like the “long list of ex lovers” she mentioned in “Blank Space”. This sounds more personal. I honestly think Taylor Swift is done playing the role of the good girl. She’s ready to claim her title as a music industry badass.

As much as I wish the circumstances that preceded all of this were different, I think Swift only let what happened to her make her stronger. She didn’t let it stop her from doing what she loves the most.

Her first single from the album, “Look What You Made Me Do”, is our first glimpse into the new Taylor. If this single is anything like the album, “Reputation” is about to rock the world. Get ready.
