To Taking Your Time:
Hey readers! This week, I wanted to focus on something we all forget (myself included!) to do: slowing down. There are different meanings to this ranging from a small task to a big goal. Whichever applies to you, pacing is essential.
I'll use today as an example. On my drive to work, there were so many cars speeding about. I thought to myself, 'why get to some place quickly if you risk being hurt or injured?' Trust me, I've had my fair share of feeling I needed to rush to my destination. However, I am learning to look around at the bigger picture: the goal will always be there no matter how long it takes you to reach it.
Now, I want to apply this to something more personal. I have dreamed of certain goals since I was a child. I never really thought I would actually get the opportunity to see them come true, but with time, results are possible. It was frustrating at times, and during these moments I wanted things to go faster. But as the story of the Tortoise and the Hare goes, slow and steady does win the race.
People often get a bit discouraged when they don't see immediate results from their efforts, and that's perfectly fine. Yet, when we worry more about progress instead of elapsed time, there is no limit to what we can accomplish!
I've said in past writings that life takes more twists and turns than we expect or ask for. Sometimes, we begin to believe what nay-sayers tell us and want to give up. Even with all of that, your personal vision for the future is still worth it. Place that extra time into yourself and making sure you are comfortable getting to your end result without feeling the need to rush anything.
Patience is something that takes time to master, but given some of it, you won't need to hasten your dreams. Whatever they may be, I hope you are proud of yourself when you cross the finish line. Stay at pace and peace.
Encouragingly,
Jessica
