5 Key Takeaways From Season 1 Episode 1 of ‘Listen To Your Heart’

As you may have heard, 'The Bachelor' franchise has just produced a new show called 'Listen to Your Heart'. This show works similarly to 'Bachelor in Paradise', although the difference is that every contestant on the show is a musician. I was skeptical of the show ever since it was first announced, but I couldn't help but watch the first episode to try and figure out how all of it was going to work. So, here are my five key takeaways from the first ever episode of 'Listen to Your Heart'.

1. There is going to be A LOT of drama.

As with any 'Bachelor' show, there's bound to be some drama. And since this set-up is almost identical to 'Bachelor in Paradise', it's practically made for that very purpose. Already, we've seen a love triangle, a guy "miscommunicating" his feelings and leaving a girl confused, and some shocking picks in the rose ceremony. The rest of the season is sure to be just as eventful.

2. The dates are going to be AMAZING.

Since every contestant on the show is a musician, the dates are bound to be centered around music, which means we're sure to see some big-name celebrities. In the first episode, the dates already included recording the song "Gravity" by John Mayer in the studio with Mayer's Grammy-nominated producer John Alagia as well as a private concert by the Plain White T's. I'm sure other dates are going to be just as exciting.

3. Team Trevor? Or Team Ryan?

As I mentioned before, we've already seen a love triangle form in just one episode of the show. So inevitably, Bachelor Nation has begun taking sides. Personally, I'm Team Trevor, but I know a lot of other fans are on the other side. Who knows, maybe I'll end up liking Ryan more than Trevor as the season progresses.

4. Some parts are going to be just as cringe-y as we thought.

Let's start with Michael Todd saying "I like your lips" in hopes of getting a first kiss. Definitely the most cringe-worthy part of the first episode, and there's only going to be much more in the coming episodes.

5. Being a good singer isn’t going to impress anyone, for once.

It occurred to me while watching the show that in every other dating situation, being a musician has probably made these contestants stand out significantly to whoever they were trying to impress. But since everyone on the show is a musician, having musical talent ISN'T the most impressive thing about any contestant anymore. They all share in the same skillset, for the most part, so finding ways to stick out and make themselves interesting may prove to be difficult for some of them.

Of course, there's still a lot more to come in the next episodes of 'Listen to Your Heart', but this first episode lived up to all 'Bachelor' expectations in giving us a little bit of awkwardness and a whole lot of drama. I'm still a little bit skeptical, but I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for each of these contestants, and I hope to see some couples in love by the end.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
