The most unnoticed facets of life are oftentimes the most magnificent. Our lives are always moving, forever changing and never constant.
Ferris Bueller once recognized the rapidness of our existence, stressing to “stop and look around for a while” or else the beauty of life could easily slip through our fingers. With the continuous changing of our world, it seems that society has forgotten how to be sentient.
As we shift swiftly through our busy days, beauty goes unseen and is ultimately ignored. Our lives begin to lack meaning as we become more distracted. We fail to recognize the visions amongst us and the beauty surrounding us.
I often wonder how much beauty remains unnoticed as we carry out our busy lives. How many times have we truly been captivated? How many times has the fruitfulness of the Earth taken our breath away?
One may live their entire life without realizing the brilliant colors of an intricate sunrise or distinguishing the dazzling light of a piercing sunset. More often than not, we neglect to smell the freshness of the flowers and overlook the beauty that is right in front of us.
Rainfalls, snowfalls and rainbows will go unseen as we hide inside our houses, typing furiously away at our computers. While we stare blankly into the television, the sky is frantically arranging itself into a picture of whimsical clouds and gorgeous colors. Throughout these aspects of our busy lives, we may never stop to see how astonishing our world truly is.
The fact that it is so easy to miss out on life’s extraordinary beauty amazes me. We need to take more moments to enjoy and explore what our world has to offer.
The world is a remarkable place and is never mundane. Take a break. Pause and stop— even just for a moment. If you don’t, you might miss it.
