Take Care Of Your Face

GIRLS! It's time to have a serious conversation about your face. Now, I'm not talking about your makeup, or your hair, or even the way that you dress. What I'm talking about is the way that you wash your face.

Before I turned 21, really before I was 20, I noticed a huge difference in my face. I'm talking about how I wash my face, moisturize, and how I care for my face. I noticed around the middle year mark of my 20's that my face was changing. Suddenly I was having to wear moisturizer, I might need a weekly mask more than before, and the bags under my eyes were seriously getting in the way.

Your face will not look what it looks like now forever. Your face is going to adapt and change and evolve through your life. Many of the things that you're doing now do not support a safe habit for your future. I'm here to *slightly* suggest the importance of healthy face habits and learning what works for you.

First off, DO NOT GO TO BED WITH YOUR MAKEUP ON. I do not care how tired you are, I do not care how much you have done in the day, and I do not care what you have to do in the morning. You need to ALWAYS take off your makeup. It doesn't matter. I love make-up more than I should and I do not like to keep it on my face for that long. I have recently gone on a Mizzou Alternative Spring Break (MAB) and I wore makeup in the morning and when we had a change, I wiped it off and reapplied before I had gone to get dinner with my crew. I don't care, wipe it off.

Create a facial routine and keep it. Actually, find a routine that you support and LOVE IT. All through high school I used Proactive. During junior year my skin changed and now I use a mix of Lush's Coalface, Proactive, and Cetaphil. I love each of these brands for completely different reasons and they are so supportive of my skin.

Wash your face morning and night. I don't care if you have oily skin, you need to. I have oily skin and I've found a way to combat my skin for the better. Try a few different products and see what works for you, you'll thank yourself later.

If you are staying up late, drinking a lot of coffee, drinking, or smoking, you are supporting the risk of free radicals. Essentially free radicals break down your cell count and they help create wrinkles and the aging process. Consider what you're doing in moderation and try to implement water during your entire day.

Moisturizer. HELLO, my best friend! Momma used to say if I had alligator legs that boys wouldn't like me so then I would use lotion and keep them hydrated. The same goes for your face! We're constantly around SO MANY CHEMICALS from the air that we breathe to the products that we use to the things that we eat. KEEP YOUR SKIN HYDRATED. Drink water and find a moisturizer that works for you.

Weekly clarifying masks! Find a sheet mask or wet mask to apply to your skin for once a week and let it do its magic. My skin looks, feels, and acts differently. Ulta, Sephora, Walmart, Sally's, and Walgreen's have SOOO many different options!

Water, shut eye, and rest! It's all so important. Take care of your face and it'll take care of you. All of the things listed are things that are beneficial and inexpensive! Add me on Facebook, shoot me an email, and ask me questions!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
