I cannot believe it's 2017 and some men would still rather die than see women use birth control. Now before you see this article as a heavy leftwing detail complaining about conservative men, it's not. In fact, ideally, I identify with a more conservative point of view.
I'm not quite sure why Trump would repeal this part of Obamacare. Letting employers decide if they should cover birth control or not (based on their moral/religious values) is ridiculous. Let's be real, a majority of employers are men, and A vast amount of them don't see the problem with limiting the access to birth control for women since they don't have to take it.
But birth control is so muchmore than just for contraceptive use. Period cramps can get so bad to the point where women I know, have to leave class and throw up. It's also for regulating a flow (I know that word makes you guys uncomfortable), so we don't have to worry about bleeding through our clothes.
And finally, it's for Acne. Unlike guys, Acutane is not necessarily good for teenage girls because it's chemical potency does not react as well with our bodies as it does them. Birth Control is a safe, effective way of clearing up skin without having those harsh side effects.
Working class women are among the highest majority of birth control users, so making it more expensive and harder to access does not make sense. Why does it matter if they use birth control or not? Among anything, men should want it to be more accessible because it lowers abortion rates. I don't understand why employers can still have Viagra covered, but hate the idea of birth control being available for women.
My main argument is, the fact that it's not fair. Although Viagra does help those with medical conditions, it still overall promotes sexual intercourse for men. But something that can possibly promote sexual intercourse for women is looked down upon and needs to be repealed immediately.
It's not fair.
