The Struggle Doesn't Discriminate
From one fighter to another, keep going!
"No one surpasses struggling."
What does that even mean?
It means that no one is exempt from struggling. Rich. Poor. Driven. Lazy. Famous or unknown. Big or small. No one is exempt from struggling. I learned this from some older people with wisdom in my life and from paying attention to the different types of people that I've met.
1 Timothy 6:12 "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses."
I didn't know this scripture for a long time. I genuinely thought it was one of those 'Christian sayings' until I just googled it.
"Fight the food fight", I interpret as the trials that come with the pursuit of being a good person. There are trials that come just because you're doing exactly what God told you to do, exactly how he told you to treat people and exactly what he told you to do alone in your relationship with yourself.
I don't know about you but for some reason, I subconsciously thought that after doing this that I would have no battles. I thought that meant I would have the least or I wouldn't go through anything crazy but that's far from the truth.
#1 In my life is my relationship with God.
I try to do my best to do what God tells me to do. I'm always trying to seek Him and just see who He is. This breeds its own trouble.
Example: When I was seeking God when 2018 began, I asked Him what he wanted to do in my life this year and what I should do to prepare for it. He gave me HIS values and showed me how to create the goals HE had for me out of them.
He gave me goals for my career field, health, relationships and in my relationship with Him.
There are trials that come with you trying to be a good friend. There are trials that come with you trying to watch your spending. There were trials that come with you trying to work on your health and do more with your life. I still had trials. I still struggled. These trials came from me trying to do the right thing.
Of course, I made mistakes. Of course, I lost my way sometimes and fell short. He knew all of those things would happen but he sees what I can't see and can do what I can't do.
I just want to encourage you to keep fighting the good fight because it's worth it. I want to encourage you to not look at your situations with what you see but to look at them with what God said. If you really believe what he says then you might as well put it work with your day to day actions unless you just like wasting your own faith and time.
Your faith is what connects you to Him but he can't move in your life without your participation.
