The Theme:
Technically Christmas is a theme itself but you can make it more exciting and create a theme that goes alone with the holiday. Base the party after a movie like “Elf” or “The Grinch” and have the décor represent those movies. If you want to go old school do an Ugly Sweater party and you can have a competition and the ugliest sweater winner gets to wear a sash around all night.
Food and Drinks:
Have the best of the best out for everyone to enjoy, food really is always the best part of most things in life. Create exciting deserts like cake pops, chocolate dipped fruit and have everyone chip in for making main dishes. There are so many fun flavors that we only see in the winter like peppermint mocha. You can have a hot cocoa bar and coffee bar to keep the energy going.
Entertainment:
Create a really upbeat and festive playlist for your party. Put on classics on there but also some songs that everyone can dance to. Also, have some type of activity that everyone can be a part of like cookie decorating or ornament making. If you are planning on a low key night Christmas movies are always a great options.
Games:
Again there are so many awesome classic games that you can play with your friends. One new game that I want to encourage everyone to play this year and the next year is the “Seran Wrap Ball Game”. This game is so much and interesting, all you need is a bunch of random items like candy, pens, CDs, socks and anything you can think of. You wrap all the items into one huge ball made out of seran wrap and have your friends sit in a circle. Then, give the ball to one person and have the person next to them roll some dices until they get to the number 7. While one person is trying to get the lucky number the other person with the ball is unwrapping it individually and winning prizes as they fall out. This is just so much fun because everyone wins for the most part and its not that pricy.
These are just some easy creative ideas that can make your next Christmas party really fun and get everyone excited for next years.
1. Give like a murderer.
Shopping for that special someone can get almost deadly. You search the shelves for that potato peeler your significant other has to have, and lo and behold, there is only one left. Two are fighting over who should get it and you, like a thief in the night who responsibly took the item off the shelf and payed for it with hard-earned money during the day, have one less step on your paper trail to worry about. I am not saying to trample or wrestle anyone in the store for peanuts. I am just saying to steal those killer deals like a premeditated giver. That is right, give like Hannibal Lecter is giving skin for a skin suit: careful, precise, and ahead of schedule. Just in time for having a friend for dinner.
2. See you sooner.
No one likes to wait. If you prefer waiting patiently to getting something or somewhere right away, you must be Cecil Turtle. Instead of letting the tinsel fall where it may, take the initiative to reach your destination sooner than later. Terminal tents and car camp-outs are not the goal and neither is missing your flight or being stuck in traffic. If you are visiting, plan on staying over a few days before the road warriors and backseat pilots get the same idea. It will be relaxing up until the big reunion. Oh how precious time is.
3. Relative roulette.

No one has the same production value or on-camera chemistry. Besides, the budget for satisfying your relatives is priceless. What do you give them? Who are they really? How are they related to you? The answers will show themselves to you in the form of specters, if you are lucky. The rest of us will have to settle in and make some time to talk with them. Think of it as speed dating, you will remember them for the moment but you will not have to remember anything until next year. That is if things go well, but by everyone's standards, we can keep it average.
4. Have a staycation.

Or you could bundle up this holiday season in the comfort of your own home. This is the only time it would be okay to be a turtle. While everyone else is running all over the place, you will be busy falling like snow into a restful hibernation. Remember to wake up in time for food and presents.
5. Disclosed Santa.
Secret Santa can be a tired and uneventful tradition. For a $20 spending maximum, the most someone could buy you is a gift card to Starbucks (and that is only because your Secret Santa did not know what to get you). Rather than surprise or risk disappointment, how about getting to know the recipient a bit better before you surprise or disappoint him or her. You avoid the guesswork and can plan a gift that you know they will love. Giving does not have to be anonymous, it just has to be meaningful. Disclosed Santa will be the new tradition, boys and girls.

1. AHHHH!!! I AM SO EXCITED TO BE BACK!!!!
After a long break, we are all excited to get back and see all of our friends.
2. It's syllabus week! Let's get crazy!
This week is amazing! Classes are just starting, and there's no work! We can have fun all week! I love college so much, and I never want to leave! Why was I stressed last semester?! This is awesome!
3. OK, I'm starting to get a little work, but that's OK because I can still have fun on the weekends!
The work is starting to pile up, but it's all good because it's not due for a couple weeks. Plus, midterms haven't started yet. The weeks may be busy, but you have plenty of time on the weekends to have fun.
4. Oh no...midterms start next week.
How did they sneak up so fast? I actually have to do work this weekend? I don't even really know what is going on! Midterms are about to hit you like a ton of bricks.
5. I need a nap for a month after those midterms.
Too bad you have no time to take a nap...you have a paper to write that you procrastinated a month ago.
6. There is that one week in between all of your midterms where it appears that you have nothing due!
It is time to have fun! I really should get ahead of my work...nah...I'll do it later.
7. Second round of midterms...I am going to die.
Why did I procrastinate that project a couple weeks ago?! Now I have to do that as well as take 4 exams next week. If anyone needs me, I'll be at the library. I think there's something in my eye...I'm not crying or debating dropping out. False. I am.
8. Spring break..thank goodness!
I need a break from life. Thank goodness for spring break...too bad it comes in the middle of the semester. I still have to do this for another 7 weeks. Oh no!
9. I feel well-rested from spring break.
Rested and motivated to come back to school.
10. Third round of midterms...
When will this end? Enough said.
11. Crunch time for all final projects, final exams, and final essays.
Can I drop out? Do I really need a college degree? Well it seems like a waste of money to quit now. I will just cry and eat ice cream.
12. Finals week.
I get to go home in four days. Just push through and listen to "Don't Stop Believing." I can't wait to go home. I am so done with this semester.
13. Been home for a week.
I love college! That was the best semester ever. I had so much fun! Five words: I want to go back. I miss college. I can't wait for next semester. I wish I never had to graduate.
