Syllabus week as a normal student is a time of free-loading and slacking off. Syllabus week as an exchange student is a culture and language shock, all thrown in with jetlag, getting settled, and not knowing how the school works.

Pretending you’re fluent in whatever language is native to the country where you’re studying and telling everyone from home that you’re almost fluent.
